CHILD WELFARE SUMMER INTERN - HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES

Kit Carson County Health & Human Services is currently accepting applications for Child Welfare Summer Intern beginning June 1, 2013 – August 15, 2013 however, adjustments can be made depending on schedules; No more than 330 hours for the time worked.

Job Responsibilities:
Shadow and perform support staff duties for the Child Welfare program.  
 
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 1 year of college course work completed in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field.

A valid driver’s license is required.

DISPATCHER - KIT CARSON SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in criminal justice or related field is desirable. Must be 21 years of age and a U.S. citizen or possess appropriate work Visa. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language. Must have a valid Colorado Driver's License. Required to work all shifts, which includes days, nights, and weekends. Must be certified in PRO Q&A, NCIC/CCIC, OSN Certification and Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification within the first six (6) months of employment. CPR/First Aid Certification within the first six (6) months of employment. Will be on a six (6) month probation period from date of hire. Must pass a background check, which will include a sociological test and a drug test. Cannot have a Felony conviction or domestic violence charge/conviction on your record.

Job Description: Responsible for the operations of the Communications Center: Dispatchers answer 911 calls for all of Kit Carson County, They Dispatch for 5 fire departments and 4 Ambulance departments, all Law Enforcement, Burlington Police Department, Kit Carson County Sheriff’s Department, take call for Colorado State Patrol and advise their dispatch. Also monitors city alarm computer. Dispatchers will be certified in PRO Q & A. Will provide instructions when needed. Send appropriate responders. Will be Certified on CBI computer and follow their policy .Must be able to enter information into the system such as stolen vehicles, missing persons, stolen guns. Read drivers information, license plate information, arrest warrants, and protection orders and relay information to officers. Dispatchers also answer city calls after hours and sheriff office calls after hours or when no one else is in the office. All dispatchers aid in training of new hires. Dispatchers also monitors court security when possible and performs other duties as required.

KIT CARSON AMBULANCE SERVICE ON CALL EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS AND SUPPORT STAFF

Kit Carson County Ambulance Service provides services as needed to eastern Kit Carson County and transports to the Denver Metro area. These positions are on call positions and considered part time. Call hours are flexible and paid per event. Other compensation includes uniforms, continuing education training, and opportunity to provide an essential and valuable service to the local community.
