Prairie Dog Control Programs

Kit Carson County 2010 Budget has reduced prairie dog control programs funding from $30,000 to $10,000. The Kit Carson County Weed District will provide a reimbursement, on a first come first serve basis, as allocated funding allows, of 30% of the purchase cost of legal chemicals used to control prairie dogs, up to $2,000 per year.

All treatment of prairie dogs must be done in accordance with State of Colorado requirements. Purchases must be made during the calendar year of the appropriation, evidenced by an invoice or receipt and the legal description of the treated. The District reserves the right, based on its sole discretion, to determine those eligible for reimbursement.
