Prairie Dog Control Programs

The Kit Carson County Weed District will provide a reimbursement up to $125 per landowner, per calendar year for purchases of legal chemicals (such as zinc phosphide) made between Jan 01 – Mar 15, and Nov 15 – Dec 31, legal toxin (such as aluminum phosphide) made between Jan 01 and Dec 31, or a licensed exterminator for prairie dog control made between Jan 01 – Dec 31.

The District may provide a one time contribution of $150 towards the purchase of a spreader. These reimbursements are on a first-come first serve basis; once the designated appropriated dollars are spent, the landowner will need to make the purchases during the calendar year of the appropriation. The District reserves the right, based on its sole discretion, to determine those eligible for reimbursement. Call Ray at 348-5875 or 349-8133 for contract and information.
